Monday, August 21 – solar eclipse events

Good morning BCS! It’s one busy day but the major topic for many will be the solar eclipse. This post will cover the big events in town.

The Solar Eclipse will peek here in BCS at 1:13 p.m. You cannot watch it unless you have special protective eye wear. You can make a pinhole projector from a cereal box. See how from NASA: https://youtu.be/vWMf5rYDgpc

Solar Eclipse events around town:
Solar Eclipse QSO Party hosted by TAMU’s W5AC – Texas A&M Amateur Radio Club. From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., you can swing by and learn all about the solar eclipse. 582 Floriculture Rd. TAMU

Clara B. Mounce Public Library is hosting a Solar Viewing Party on their south lawn. The event is made possible by a grant from Gordan and Betty Moore Foundation and StarNet. The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. and goes until 2:42 p.m.

KBTX Media will host it’s own KBTX Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater starting at noon.

Many of the networks will also have coverage.
